The Tea Grown in England
https://tregothnan.co.uk/

Tregothnan has pioneered botanical firsts since 1334 and sold Britain's first homegrown tea, inspired by the plants and gardens thriving there.

The first tea gardens in the UK yielded Britain’s first home-grown English tea in 2005, creating the ultimate Britishness in every cup. 15 Years later and over 20,000 tea bushes are planted every year, in new English tea garden areas across the tiny microclimate in Cornwall. The flora around the tea includes the famous pink Magnolia campbellii that was introduced from Darjeeling and often heralds spring in Cornwall before it arrives in Darjeeling!

Quintessentially British, our Afternoon loose tea is delicately refreshing with invigorating citrus notes. We think this brew is best savoured around 3pm (with a Cornish cream tea, of course!) – but it is equally as delicious at any time of the day. Loose leaf afternoon tea is a delicious blend of hand-plucked Cornish Tea from Tregothnan and the finest Darjeeling Tea from the gardens of India, renowned for creating ‘the champagne of teas’.

Our famous Earl Grey tea is one of our signature blends, using only the best bergamot oil – pure and natural oil from bergamot orchards in Calabria, Italy. Our homegrown leaves are blended with the best Assam and subtly infused with bergamot oil. Selected for our new, luxury caddy box and sleeve, our Earl Grey is made famous by Tregothnan’s family connection to Sir Charles Grey, the pioneer of this fine English brew.

Green loose tea now available in our brand new loose leaf tea caddies with luxe, British styling. Tregothnan Green Tea ticks all the boxes – it is rich in health benefits as well as having an incredible flavour. Our tea grows in inimitable conditions in Cornwall and is from the same type of bushes as those from which Green Tea was first discovered in China. The process of creating black teas varies here, as oxidisation is replaced by steaming so the fresh leaves retain their natural green colour.
